Meet Natalie Mounter: The Stay-at-Home Mom Behind Totally Dazzled
Natalie Mounter is not your average stay-at-home mom. She is also a successful entrepreneur and the owner of Totally Dazzled, a company that sells sparkly craft supplies for weddings and creative projects. What sets her apart is her unique approach to business – she hires other stay-at-home moms as employees and affiliates, and attributes much of her company’s success to these hardworking and smart women.
I recently had the chance to sit down with Natalie and discuss Totally Dazzled’s origins, its affiliate marketing success, and the value of empowering stay-at-home moms.
The full audio of our conversation is available below. The transcript has been edited for length and clarity.
Eric Bandholz: A Glimpse Into Totally Dazzled
Eric Bandholz: Tell us more about what you do at Totally Dazzled.
Natalie Mounter: Totally Dazzled is all about providing sparkly craft supplies for weddings and creative projects. We started in 2012 with an Etsy store and have since transitioned to Shopify. The business grew exponentially during the pandemic as more people turned to online shopping and DIY projects. Being able to work from home and set my own hours has been key in balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship.
Bandholz: How do you find and empower stay-at-home moms?
Mounter: I have found stay-at-home moms through platforms like HireMyMom.com and local networking. My team includes skilled individuals who handle fulfillment, customer service, and marketing. Hiring stay-at-home moms has been crucial to our success as they bring dedication, efficiency, and creativity to the table.
Bandholz: The Power of Affiliate Marketing
Mounter: Affiliates play a significant role in driving traffic to our website. We offer commissions to content creators who promote our products, creating a mutually beneficial relationship. By focusing on long-term partnerships and providing generous commissions, we have seen great results. It’s all about building trust and engaging with our affiliates to drive sales.
Bandholz: Sustaining Motivation and Gratitude
Mounter: Staying motivated in business requires focusing on gratitude and remembering the reasons behind your work. I am grateful for the flexibility and freedom that entrepreneurship has given me as a mother. Being able to prioritize my family while running a successful business is truly rewarding.
